about me post: v2
So I haven’t done one of these in a while, and my previous post is woefully outdated.
Hey! I’m Catherine, if you haven’t gathered that thus far.
- I’m a 21-year-old college senior (WHAT. WHEN DID THIS TRANSPIRE.)
- Graduating in June 2012 with a B.S. in biology and psychology.
- Currently planning on taking a year to work before starting grad school (i.e. I did not apply this fall, plan to apply next year, etc.). I am still hoping to enter a PhD program in neuroscience … wherever will accept me!
- I am now working for a cardiology research group, studying resuscitation methods for cardiac arrests. Sounds cool, right? It’s actually a rather depressing office job. I read a lot of EMT and paramedic incident reports, and these cases usually don’t end well. I listen to a lot of Radiolab podcasts at work to distract myself from the distressing nature of my job.
- I live in Seattle with my sister and her cat, Scully. The cat is a new addition. I’m not usually a cat person, but this creature is growing on me.
- I spent last summer living and working in Berlin. I occasionally get nostalgic and reblog the entire Berlin tracked tag.
- I watch far more television than I have time for. Parks & Recreation is far and away my favorite show right now. I’m currently on a Fringe kick, but my relationship with that show is notoriously hot and cold. I love NBC comedies (sans Whitney, naturally) annnnnd some ABC comedies as well (I’m looking at you, Modern Family, Happy Endings, and Cougar Town).
- Music. I’m very passionate about the music I love. My list of favorite artists is always growing in a wonderful way. Nick Drake has been perched at the top of that list for years now, and I doubt that will change anytime soon. Feel free to add me on last.fm! I am always looking for new music to discover.
- I have been known to frequently make this face:

- What else…
- I like chocolate a bit too much.
- I am absolutely over the novelty of Seattle’s rain.
- I firmly believe that one can’t have too many socks.
- And finally: INFJ. I am the 2%.
